Children are welcome to join Finchingfield Nursery from the term after they are 3 years old.
The number of morning or afternoon sessions can be tailored to your needs.

Finchingfield Academy Nursery offers placements of 3 hour sessions: mornings 9am-12 noon & afternoons 12.10pm to 3.10pm from children from 3 years old.
These sessions can be funded by 3-4 year old Early Years Entitlement Funding or, where eligible, Extended Funding (where an application is made and accepted by Essex County Council by their deadline dates) or alternatively paid for in advance (for the term) by parents / carers.
All three and four-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early learning a week (from the term after they turn 3) until they either go into a reception class or reach compulsory school age (the term following their 5th birthday).
Sessions in addition to the termly agreed sessions can be requested on a temporary or one off basis with prior arrangement with Finchingfield Academy / Canonium Learning Trust. These hours would be payable strictly in advance (£5.00 per hour / £15.00 per session) on ParentPay and are not guaranteed. They are dependent on availability and at the discretion of the Head of School.
Each term Finchingfield Academy will ask you to sign a parent/carer agreement form. The form is your commitment to that childcare provider for your child’s place for that term. Finchingfield Academy will then submit the form to Essex County Council to claim your Free Early Education Entitlement for the next term.
Finchingfield Academy will be able to claim funding from Essex County Council. The funding is paid directly to the academy on a termly basis.
An application for a place at Finchingfield Academy Nursery should be made directly to the academy by completing the application form below (and at the top of this page). Once completed online, they should be sent by e-mail to nursery@finchingfieldacademy.com
Admissions to the Finchingfield St John the Baptist C of E Primary Academy Nursery is an entirely separate process to admissions to the school and does not come under the Finchingfield St John the Baptist C of E Primary Academy Admissions criteria or policy. Admission to the Nursery is not a guarantee and is subject to availability of space on application. Please note, a placement in the Nursery is not a guarantee of a placement in the school.
(A paper copy of the application form can be obtained from the school office, on request, for completion to be returned in person to the office or by post.)
