To start this half term we have participated in ‘Safety Week’. We have been learning about how to stay safe in a variety of situations and have designed and created posters to help others to stay safe. We visited Class 3 and taught them all that we had found out about staying safe. Our posters will be displayed around the school environment to help everyone remember the different ways that we can help each other to be safe.
Our topic this half term is ‘Go Bananas!’ We will be looking into trade and Fairtrade in particular. We are linking this topic to current affairs and discussing what is happening at the COP26 summit. So far we have discovered what trade is and discussed the vocabulary import and export. We all became manufacturers and had to trade our products to make a profit, it was very interesting and frustrating for some of us. Ask us all about our learning and what resources we were given and how we managed to make a profit or not!
We will be looking at our carbon footprint over the coming weeks and discussing where our foods comes from, so tomorrow (Friday) we will be making winter vegetable soup using local produce to begin this process.
We made our soup it was absolutely delicious.
