Good Morning Class 2 Parents and Carers
I just wanted to let you know how delighted we are to have all the children back in school. Their enthusiasm and excitement about everything (even fractions!) brings smiles to our faces.
I hope the children have told you that we are studying Victorians this term. We are reading a children’s version of Oliver Twist and have been studying conditions in workhouses. We will also be learning about inventions in the Victorian Era, which fits in very well with our “Sound” topic in science. This week all the children made a string telephone and next week we will be finding out about Alexander Graham Bell.
At the beginning of the week we created a family tree to show how Princes George and Louis, Princess Charlotte and Archie are related to Queen Victoria. The children showed a lot of interest in this so I thought it might be interesting for them to see how far they could trace back their own family tree.
