English

| Activities | Find a definition for compassion in a dictionary. How would you explain Compassion in your own words? | |
| Find a story in the New Testament where Jesus shows compassion. | ||
| Write an acrostic poem using the word COMPASSION | ||
| Extension Activity Ideas | Can you think of famous people in history who have shown compassion? Choose a person and find 5 facts about them. |
Maths
| Learning Objective/Focus: | Multiplication – timed grid | |
| Main input | Draw a 10×10 grid with numbers along the top and down the side, mix them up. Use numbers from 2 to 12, excluding 10. | |
| Activities | See how quickly and accurately you can complete the grid. Are you getting quicker? | |
| Remember to note those calculations that are tricky- E.g. 9×8, 7×9, 6×12 | ||
| List the squares ie 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and so on. Can you work out the answers to some higher squares than in your grid? | ||
| Extension Activity Ideas | Make up a multiplication game using 3 dice. It could be multiply all 3 numbers you roll. OR Multiply 2 highest numbers and subtract smallest. You decide. |

| Design and draw a new shoe/trainer for yourself or someone famous (pop singer or sportsman). | ||
| Extension Activity Ideas | Design a pair of wellies for a toddler. Think about colour, pattern, pictures etc. Make sure your design will appeal to them and their parents. |
