Learning Activities for Monday

I hope you had a great half term and are enjoying the warmer weather.

Below are some learning activities for today. Remember you can choose from the activities and should not do them all.

English

Learning Objective/Focus:Statutory spellings and handwriting
Main inputTo practice tricky words, know their meaning and spell them correctly
Activities

MUST
Attached is a spelling activity sheet containing words for year 2.
If you cannot download the sheet then challenge yourself to learn how to spell 5 unfamiliar words. Write each one in your best handwriting 3 times.
SHOULDComplete at least one of the crosswords attached and practice the spellings in your best handwriting.
COULDComplete as many of the crosswords as you can and write at least 5 of them into sentences.
Extension Activity IdeasCreate a spelling crossword.

 Maths

Learning Objective/Focus:Addition and subtraction word problems
Main inputDiscuss how to identify and highlight the important words and numbers in each word problem. This will help you work out the calculation you need to do. Choose from the worksheets below to challenge yourself.
