Good morning hope you enjoyed completing some of your home learning activities. We have finished our reading sessions and hope you have enjoyed sharing the book. Below are some activities for today:
English
Learning Objective/Focus: To write a book review.
Main input: Work your way through the PowerPoint to help you revise and understand how to write a book review.
Activities: Must: Write a book review including opinion and a paragraph about the story β slide 10 on PowerPoint.
Should: As above but include writing about your favourite character β slide 11.
Could: Describe your favourite part of the book. Was there a particular piece of action, description or characters’ speech you really enjoyed?
Extension: Were there any chapters where you found yourself wishing for some action to liven up the plot? Any unrealistic characters? Any descriptions or chapters that you felt were rubbish?

Learning Objective/Focus: Substitution.
Main input: See PowerPoint.
Activities: Must: Fluency activity.
Should: Reasoning activity.
Could: Problem Solving activity.

ICT
Learning Objective/Focus: To select, use and combine a variety of software (including internet services) on a range of digital devices to design and create a range of programs, systems and content that accomplish given goals, including collecting, analysing, evaluating and presenting data and information.
Main input: Now that we have finished the book and you have drawn a story map use ICT to make a video to retell the story. Watch this one for inspiration –

Activities: Must: Make a video that retells the story?
Should: Using ICT draw a picture from your favourite part of The Butterfly Lion.
Could: Recreate the poster that Millie and Bertie find that promotes ‘Le Cirque Merlot’.
Extension: Draw a picture of an Adonis Blue butterfly using the internet to research their shape, colour and pattern.
