English
Learning Objective/Focus: We will be reading The Butterfly Lion and answering questions just as we would during our guided reading sessions in class.
Access the PowerPoint for Monday. Listen to The Butterfly Lion – if you have a copy of the book follow along. Answer relevant questions using sentences and consider your handwriting.
Activities: Must: Complete all vocabulary and retrieval questions.
Should: As above and complete explanation questions.
Could: As above then complete prediction questions.
Extension: Complete the summarise part of the task.
Maths
Learning Objective/Focus: Equivalent fraction, decimals and percentages.
Main input: See PowerPoint.
Activities: Must: Fluency activity.
Should: Reasoning activity.
Could: Problem Solving activity.
Extension: I have three bags of sweets. One weighs 64.17g, one weighs 58.29g and the third weighs 68.47g. How much do they weigh altogether?
Geography
Learning Objective/Focus: To use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied.
Main input: The Butterfly Lion is set in a foreign country. Identify the country from the book and find it in an atlas or on a globe.
Activities: Must: Describe features of country and present as a leaflet.
Should: Draw a map of the world and highlight the seven continents. Mark the country in the book on your map.
Could: Produce an information leaflet about the country explaining the best features and places of interest.
Extension: Make a PowerPoint presentation about the country in which The Butterfly Lion is set.
